Day 6 - Train to Elgin

This will be a short post today due to spending most of the day on the train. Two ladies sitting next to us at dinner last night recommended Hula for breakfast this morning so we took their advice.

I had what was called fruit salad. It was fresh fruit, yogurt and granola. Jo Anne had bacon and a bagel.

A place called Oink

You can actually read the sign better reflected in the window.

Waiting for the train at Edinburgh Waverley station.

A bag piper playing the Highland Cathedral - absolutely breathtaking.

A better picture of him.

These are the steps that I told you about yesterday. You can't even see the top flight in the pic.

We had traditional Cornish pasties for lunch. Yummmmm!

About to board the train.

More blurry pics from the train

I wish I could really capture the beauty here but it's impossible to do with a camera especially from a speeding train.

These are the steps up to our B&B for the night. I guess we didn't get in enough stairs yesterday.

There's snow on the mountain.

We had dinner at the Highlander Inn. It proudly boasts being one of the world's most famous whiskey bars with 550 whiskeys arranged around the bar like a library.

The soup of the day was sweet potato chili. This is not what we expected but it was good nonetheless.

If you look really close you can see Jo Anne at the top of those stairs to our B&B because we got to go back up them after dinner.

We're off to sleep now so we will be fully rested for our 12 mile walk around the whiskey trail tomorrow.

Today's stats: 5.3 miles, 13,084 steps.
